I need your advice!

I need to transfer a video from my camera to the PC.

I have used DV type 2 and transfered it via a Firewire. Now for each 4min it takes up 1 GB! Now all I want is to put the video on a DVD or any CD (SVCD) I've read many articles and guides, they are all full of jargon that I didn't really get!

I've tried using ULEAD, it indeed burned the 3GB into a one single CD, but the quality of the picture was horrible!

So how do you burn the 3GB DV-AVI file into a DVD or a CD, yet retaining the video quality as the original DV quality?

I've tried many softwares, all the same. Could you please help me out on this? I've been to four different video montage dudes, and as you guess, they don't know what I'm talking about!

Any advice?

Hey man :)
Your video is probably that big bcoz it's in an uncompressed avi format.
So all you have to do is to try to compress it into a less space-taking format ( i recommend using the Divx or ffdshow video codec).
There's this great app called WinAvi Converter. You can convert your (12 minutes i assume) video into a compressed avi format then into a DVD format, or you can convert it to the DVD format directly since you can control the video's quality and size !
Hope i was helpful enough, and if you need any further help, please do add me on msn for faster communication : amerhalasa@hotmail.com

Thanks Amer!

I've used DIVX converter, it's good but not exactly what I'm looking for!

I think it needs some tweaking.

You've been very helpful, وبقولو عنك عاطل و ما بتفهم بقصص الفيديو و الديفكس، شايف،ولاد الحرام كتار
